Manitoba 4‑H Scholarships - APPLY by MAR 18

Seven 4‑H scholarships are available: one from the Western Producer and five from Manitoba 4‑H Council of $1,000 and one each from the Canadian wheat Board and Bayer crop Science of $500.  See The Banner for details or check the website.

The Manitoba 4‑H Ambassador are accepting applications for membership – and offer a $500 scholarship – the scholarship and membership applicationform is online in Word and PDF.

Cooperative Youth Leadership Seminar – Apr 29-May 2 – Register now

Call for Assistant Program Director (APD) for Communications Extravaganza (volunteer)

This is a 2-year commitment, first as APD for the April 2010 event and then as Program Director in 2011. Applications due by Mon, January 11, 2010.

Manitoba 4-H Event Coordinator Contract

Manitoba 4‑H Council has a contract for services to coordinate province-wide 4‑H events and activities from Feb 2010 to Jan 2011: The coordinator will work on own time, with own facilities, with event committees to plan, promote and present Communications Extravaganza, StockFest, and will assist with travel selections and 100th Anniversary planning. Application deadline Mon Jan 11, 2010.

FCC 4-H 4-Ever program

The FCC 2010-11 program is accepting applications from clubs on an on-going basis until we have allocated all the funds. The applications were not available for a short time as we made updates to the forms, however they are now available again. please encourage your clubs to apply.

Call for NC / NVLC Assistant Conference Directors:

Agribition – 4‑H & Youth Judging Competition

Team Manitoba team came in 4th overall at the Canadian Western Agribition in November, with Austin Anderson (Swan River) awarded 4th place. Five Manitobans and a chaperone attended the national event in Regina  – judging a dozen classes with oral reasons for their placing judgements. Kudos to all who participated.

1)     Using the list (below) of expertise and skills currently needed by Manitoba 4‑H Council, send your suggestion(s) for potential Directors at Large to Manitoba 4‑H Council by Friday, December 18 . Please do not approach anyone at this time – only identify to the Executive Board who might potentially fill a specific role as DIRECTOR AT LARGE (see list of preferred skills in Details (.pdf)):
2)     The Executive Board will review all the suggestions and determine a) which nominees to approach first, and b) who best to make contact..
3)     The Executive Board will then review the slate of Nominees who agree to stand and appoint a maximum of 10 Directors at Large.
·         Email your suggestions to Manitoba 4‑H Council: 4hbrandt@mts.net
·         Include the name, as well as title, & company (if applicable), and contact information such as phone(s) & email and mailing address
·         Give a brief statement of why this person might fill a particular role/s (from the list) on the Council Board.
